Real wine tastings come with little cards describing each pour: notes of cherry, hints of oak, a lingering finish. We thought our Quilty Pleasures Wine Sippers deserved the same respect. This collection is a whole flight of stemless wine sippers, each one lettered in glowing rainbow gradients with a saying every quilter has lived, and each one ready for the good stuff after a long day at the machine. Swirl, sniff and read on.
The first pour: bright and full-bodied
We open with Life Is Better With Quilts, which arrives in several lovely vintages. The Tall Letter Stack is bold and upright, the Needle Swoosh has a lively thread running through it, and Hearts and Scissors brings a romantic, slightly sharp finish. The classic version is smooth and easy to love. Tasting note: pairs beautifully with a finished quilt top and a comfortable chair.
The second pour: notes of thimble and spool
Quilters Gonna Quilt comes in three expressions. Twin Thimbles is warm and golden, Scissors and Spool is crisp, and Striped Letters and Heart is playful with a sweet little heart on the nose. Alongside them, Quilting is Shear Delight curls its script around a pair of scissors, and the simple Quilting sipper sparkles with a needle and a trailing thread. Tasting note: best enjoyed while pressing seams, and never while cutting them.
The reserve list: big personalities
These are for the quilter who knows exactly what she likes. Quilting is My Superpower stacks a machine and pincushions over its bold letters, and the Needle Starburst version asks everyone else to name their own superpower. I Quilt Therefore I Am offers a dry, philosophical finish. Plan For Today Quilting comes in safety pin letters or under a sewing machine banner, and the Quilting Zone sipper frames a rainbow machine inside a sign that marks the sewing room as her territory. One sipper even announces a very happy retirement, along with the only job she plans to keep. Tasting note: complex, confident and a little cheeky.
For the hostess of the sip and sew
Every guild has one friend who turns sew day into an occasion. She sets out cheese, puts the good playlist on, and makes sure the wine stays on the side table far away from the fabric. Picture her face when her guests arrive each holding a sipper that says exactly what they are thinking. For the true devotee there is even the Quilt-A-Holic design, a vintage machine glowing in rainbow above its lettering. The final tasting note on every pour in this flight is the same: long finish, excellent company, and nobody leaves until the last block is pinned.
