Thank you for your message. I am currently away from my desk, my phone and most of my responsibilities, and I will be returning at an unspecified time after the binding goes on. Rather Be Quilting is the collection for every quilter who has ever wished she could set an automatic reply on her whole life. Each design says, in cheerful color, exactly where her heart already is.
Where to find me
Look near fabric first. If Unresponsive, Please Drive to the Nearest Quilt Shop gives very clear directions in glowing rainbow letters. I'd Rather Be Quilting sets a little purple machine above bold letters that trail into sweet script. Quilting, My Escape shows where I really go: a machine perched on a rock beneath a glowing moon while silver waves crash all around. And Today Is a Good Day to Quilt tucks a machine into a patchwork landscape of rainbow hills and swirls, which is where I plan to be until further notice.
In case of emergency
Please consider carefully whether it is truly an emergency. Remember My Quilting Time Is for Everyone's Safety lays out the policy in playful lettering dotted with pins and a heart. Weekend Forecast predicts quilting all weekend, with no chance of house cleaning or cooking. For urgent matters, please speak to the lion in sunglasses on Better Run, who sits calmly in a nest of green leaves and has been asked to handle all interruptions. He does not take messages.
Current status
Things are going very well, thank you. One design declares, in happy pink and blue script, that I am retired and quilting is my job now. When Life Gives You Scraps, Make a Quilt shows how productive I have been, with a sampler of printed squares under the words. Quilt-a-Holic admits the obvious over a shimmering holographic machine. Life Is Just Better When I'm Quilting says it in bold red and white, and Quilting Is Shear Delight finishes the thought with a pair of scissors tucked into the lettering.
Who should receive this reply
This message goes out to the quilter who silences her phone the moment she sits down to sew, the friend whose calendar says busy every Saturday and the retiree who is somehow busier than ever. You know who would set this reply if only she could. Let her choose the one that says it best. I will respond to all messages in the order they were received, right after this last border. Possibly the next one.
