Remember Saturday mornings in pajamas, a bowl of cereal balanced on your knees and cartoons on until someone made you go outside? Cartoon Stitch Crew Tees brings that feeling to the sewing room. The whole cast is drawn in a sketchy, storybook cartoon style, and every one of them has gotten into the thread supply at least once. Here is this week's lineup.
Episode one: Got It
Our heroes are the dogs. On the Got It tees, a fluffy golden retriever and a wide-eyed German shepherd each sit in a tangle of colorful thread they have clearly just retrieved, looking enormously proud of themselves. The thread is everywhere. The bobbin is missing. They would do it again tomorrow.
Episode two: the great stash caper
How To... Hide Your Stash stars a fox, a squirrel, a bear and a badger standing shoulder to shoulder in patchwork vests, looking far too innocent. Nobody asked where the fabric went. Nobody had to. Meanwhile, Purr-fect Mess follows two cats who took the thread basket very personally: a scruffy black cat tangled in rainbow strands beside a toppled spool, and a gray tabby wrapped so thoroughly in thread that only her big green eyes are showing.
The Saturday specials
Every cartoon block has its holiday episode. The Quilted Snowman wears a red knit hat and a cozy scarf, surrounded by spools of thread in the snow like presents under a tree. Seams Sketchy brings in a cheerful teal mermaid swimming through bubbles, and Stitchy Face makes a guest appearance as a pastel pieced cat with one eyebrow raised. After the cartoons, the grown-up commercials: wine sippers starring a grinning Silly Fox, a queen of the Nile in Cleo Patch Ra, stitching away in a gilded frame, and Snipzilla, a wild purple monster with a mouthful of teeth and a resting stitch face to match.
For the quilter who never outgrew cartoons
These tees are for the quilter with a pet who treats thread like a toy, the grandma who still watches cartoons with the grandkids and laughs louder than they do, and the friend whose stash has mysteriously grown since the last guild meeting. You know which character she is. Let her pick her episode, then pour her a bowl of cereal and settle in. Just keep the spools out of reach of the dog.
