For years the evidence was blurry. A giant footprint near the fabric store. A tuft of fur caught on a quilt rack. A figure seen at dusk carrying what looked, suspiciously, like a sewing machine. We can now confirm it. Bigfoot quilts, and the Bigfoot collection is our official sighting log, organized by where he was spotted and what he was working on at the time.
Sighted at the quilt shop
The most famous sighting of all: Bigfoot standing between towering stacks of fabric bolts under the words I Just Came In for One Yard. Witnesses report he left with considerably more than one yard, which we find extremely relatable. In another report he sits atop a teetering pile of finished and half-finished quilts, looking pleased with himself, over the reassuring words Works in Progress Count. We agree. They absolutely do.
Sighted at home, hand sewing
Closer to home, Bigfoot has been observed at his gentlest. In Believe in Big Stitches he sits in a wicker chair, needle raised, a patchwork quilt across his knees, the words curved above him like a campfire motto. Softer Than I Look finds a snowy grey Bigfoot tucked into an armchair with his hand quilting, proving what we always suspected. Retreat Mode Activated shows him settled beside a cabin window with a quilt in progress, and in Stitches Glow After Dark he works late in a moonlit forest, fireflies circling and his quilt glowing in jewel tones.
Sighted far from the woods
It turns out he travels. Stitching in Paradise places him under a palm tree with his project, surrounded by tropical blooms, and a sunset version finds him quilting right on the beach. He has been seen lounging on a quilt floating above a pond full of fish, with the words Quilting Finds Its Way Everywhere, and holding a patchwork quilt high among the clouds to declare that quilts belong everywhere. Big Stitches, Big Heart sends him striding across a landscape of pieced star blocks, and in the wildflowers he pauses, quilt in hand, simply to daydream.
For the quilter who is secretly a legend
This collection belongs to the quilter who is shy at the first guild meeting and a legend by the third, the big-hearted friend who hand-stitches every binding because she likes the quiet, and anyone in The Stitch Circle who has ever gone in for one yard and come out with a bag full of fat quarters. You know who is the gentle giant of your quilting group. And if you ever spot large footprints leading toward the remnant bin, don't panic. He is only looking for backing fabric.
