Every quilter wakes up knowing what kind of day it is going to be before her feet hit the floor. Some mornings are gentle and full of good intentions. Some mornings, frankly, somebody had better stay out of the way. Quilting Dreams Wardrobe is the Chic Quilter collection that lets you say which one it is without saying a word, in sayings washed in rainbow and sherbet colors that look like a fat quarter bundle turned into lettering.
Feeling sweet
On the soft days, Rise Shine Quilt glows with a sewing machine set against a purple sunrise, and Live Life One Stitch at a Time spells out its advice in pastel script with a spool and scissors tucked in. Quilting Vibes floats over tropical leaves and a little rainbow, Quilting is Shear Delight sweeps across in violet cursive with a pair of shears, and Blessed Are the Quilters For They Shall Be Called Piece Makers arranges its gentle joke in warm peach and coral. Add Quilters Never Cut Corners for the perfectionist in the group, and Quilting on a Cloud, a sewing machine painted in swirls of sky and color, for the dreamiest mornings of all.
Feeling a little dangerous
Then there are the other days. Quilting Because Murder is Wrong says it in cheerful rainbow letters, which is exactly what makes it funny. Sewciopath pairs a hot pink machine with a very calm needle and thread, and Don't Drink and Quilt keeps a stern pair of scissors on top of the whole idea. Material Girl claims her fabric with a pink machine and two little hearts, and Don't Dream It Sew It stands beside a dress form, looking like a woman who has already cut out the pattern.
Feeling like the sewing room is home now
And some days, nobody is coming out. Heading to My Craft Room makes the arrangement official on a bright pink sign: if she is not back in 48 hours, bring food and water. Plan For Today Quilting keeps the schedule refreshingly short, Queen of the Craft Room wears a little crown of her own, and My Therapy is written right across a rainbow sewing machine. Weekend Forecast calls for quilting with a chance of chocolate, and I Enjoy Romantic Walks Through the Fabric Store has the whole evening planned out.
The mood ring of the guild
You know which of your quilting friends lives on the sweet side and which one texts you a picture of her seam ripper when she is annoyed. You probably also know the one who has not left her sewing room since Thursday. Match the saying to the friend and hand it over at the next sew day. She will read it once, laugh, and insist it is not a joke at all. Then she will go right back to turning her scraps into a quilt, which, as one of these designs reminds us, is what life hands a quilter anyway.
