Unpack a quilter's suitcase after any trip and you will find two treasures: a camera roll full of pretty views and a bag of fabric from the local quilt shop. Stitchin' In is our postcard collection, a set of city and state scenes drawn to look embroidered and pieced by hand, each one signed with the words Stitchin' in and the name of the place. It is a souvenir from the shop hop you already took, or the one still circled on your calendar.
Skylines with a sewing basket hidden inside
Look closely and the notions start to show. In Stitchin' in Dover, the lighthouse is a stack of red thread spools standing beside a white capitol dome, with blue waves rippling underneath like a quilted border and two little planes overhead. Stitchin' in Orlando tucks spools of thread into a scene of castle turrets and roller coaster loops above curling blue water. Stitchin' in Atlanta packs a bright, happily crowded skyline around a little stone bridge and a winding creek, and Stitchin' in Little Rock sends a blue river curving out from its towers through soft green banks.
Lighthouses, riverboats and a little salt air
The waterfront towns bring the water along. Stitchin' in Biloxi stands a navy striped lighthouse above rows of wavy stitching, with shrimp and oysters tucked right into the waves. Stitchin' in Charleston floats a white riverboat past red brick buildings under a shining golden dome. Stitchin' in Baton Rouge frames its tall capitol tower with magnolia blossoms, a gentle river and a few music notes drifting overhead. Stitchin' in Honolulu rolls a big turquoise wave beneath a green volcanic peak, with surfboards, palms and hibiscus around the edges, and Stitchin' on the Big Island goes straight for the drama: the island itself, with a ribbon of glowing lava running down its side.
Mountains, moose and wide open country
The inland scenes stretch out and take their time. Stitchin' in Anchorage swirls the northern lights across the sky above a teal skyline, snowy peaks and one very calm moose. Stitchin' in the Ozarks is framed like a patchwork block, with autumn hills in rust and gold and a road winding off into a mountain tunnel. Stitchin' in Kentucky fills the whole state outline with rolling green hills, wooden barrels and a horse keeping watch from the top.
For the quilter with a map full of pins
We made these for the retreat regulars, the shop hop road trippers and every quilter who has ever planned a vacation around a fabric store. Wear the town that raised you, the city where your guild meets, or the island that is still on your someday list. And if a suitcase comes home a little heavier than it left, the Anchorage moose has seen it all and will keep your secret.
