Our sewing machines work harder than anyone in the house, and they have never once been asked to pose. The Signature Collection fixes that. Every design here is a painting with a sewing machine at its heart, set into rolling water, blazing suns, stained glass and gardens that could only grow in a quilter's imagination. Consider this your invitation to the gallery opening. Wine and cheese are on you.
The ocean rooms
Start with the water, where the machines have clearly gone on vacation. Tidal Threads sends a machine riding a great curling teal wave while a sunburst spins in the corner. Seaside Stitcher goes bigger still, a white-crested wave arching right over a vintage machine with coral and shells gathered at its base. Surfing the Fabric Sea and Sunset Dream Threads both set a machine among swirling blue waves under a round quilted sun, while Breezy Quilting wraps one in rolling clouds, and Seam Surfing tucks a machine inside a circle of green hills beneath a glowing eclipse of a sun.
The hall of light
Next door the light pours in. Stained Glass Stitches leads a machine into a cathedral window of deep blue, ruby and green panes, and Prism Delight answers in paler glass with a blue machine beneath a golden sun and trailing leaves. Patch of Sunshine builds a whole sunrise medallion out of pieced triangles, with a small machine sitting on the horizon like it is waiting for the day to start. Morning Muse outlines its patchwork sun and waves in bold black, and Bright Mandala spins a full color wheel from tiny blocks, every shade of the rainbow meeting in a glowing white center.
The garden and the wind
The last room is the most whimsical. Spool Blooms plants thread spools on tall green stems, as if a quilter's garden simply grew what she needed. Threaded Wings lets a plume of rainbow feathers stream from beneath a black machine, and Gale Force Quilting sends rainbow wind sweeping around a patterned machine. Tropical Sewing glows in iridescent color against black with hibiscus blooms drawn in outline, and Quilting Explosion sets its machine at the center of a joyful burst of suns, dots and waves.
For the quilter who is an artist, even if she says she isn't
This collection belongs to the woman who insists she just follows patterns and then changes every color. It belongs to the friend who plans quilts in her head on long drives, and to anyone in The Stitch Circle whose design wall looks more like a gallery than a workroom. You can probably name her already. Every masterpiece deserves a signature, and in a quilter's world, it goes on the label stitched into the back corner.
